Partners today, opponents tomorrow

The tennis community is a very interesting place. As ladies play in different leagues and at different clubs, pretty much we all get to know one another.

When it’s league, it’s more than a serious game on the court. When the same four people are playing on a Saturday or Sunday morning, it’s great fun.

Then, there are those ladies that play on different leagues every day of the week. It’s hard to remember, sometimes, which team is which and where the match is to be played.

Add to that, who is your partner for the day. What was your partner one day, can be your opponent the very next time you see them. It gets even more tricky. If you are playing someone you have never played before, they don’t have any idea what your true game is like. But when you play your own partner, they know every trick you have so they seem to have the upper hand.

But, at the end of the day, it’s always good to be able to go out and play tennis. Whether it be for fun or on a serious note for points, always enjoy the fact that you are still able to get out on that court, get fresh air, exercise and still have friends.
